The Choir was formed in 1991 and is a part of the Music Ministry at The African Episcopal Church of St. Thomas. Historic St. Thomas Episcopal Church is located at 6361 Lancaster Avenue in Philadelphia, PA 19151.

The St. Thomas Gospel Choir travels all over the eastern seaboard, and released their first CD in November, 2002. Their second CD was released in April 2005. The Choir will present a live recording of their third CD on Saturday, June 14, 2008.
